The Albany County Public Library is hiring a Bookkeeper.
The successful candidate will performs routine financial tasks and prepares materials for accountants, auditor, Board of Directors, and library managers. Prepares weekly deposit; uses QuickBooks to process monthly accounts payable and receivable. Keeps paper and online records current, prepares payroll and payroll related documents, statements, and reports. Works with the Library Director, Assistant Library Director, Library Board of Directors, staff members, and outside agencies.
Experience with and knowledge of QuickBooks, 4 year accounting degree or the equivalent required. Experience with online banking, MS Office, Excel.
$16,640/yr ($16.00 /hr) Half-time non-exempt, 20 hrs/week

Book Sale Volunteer
Assist the Friends of the Library by sorting through donations and learning to shelve and price books for sales. Work with other volunteers on Tuesday mornings, or at other times during the week, to be arranged. Contact the Friends of the Library at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more.
If you have an hour or two per week, you can help us reshelve books and other materials returned by library patrons. Get to know the collection inside and out! Passage of shelving test, and regular hours are required for this position. Time commitment: 1 – 10 hours per week; regular.
Centennial Branch Assistant:
This volunteer will provide reference and circulation services one day a week at the library branch in Centennial, WY. Time commitment: four hours per week.
Rock River Volunteer:

Lost and Found:
This volunteer will go through our lost and found boxes once monthly and take useful items to the Salvation Army. Time commitment: three hours per month.
Scrapbook Volunteer (library staff scrapbook):
This volunteer will compile and mount clippings and other items to go into the scrapbook recording library staff news.. Time commitment: 5 hours per month.
Tax Preparation Volunteer:
Volunteers are needed between mid-January and April 15 to help people file their income tax returns. No previous experience is necessary, and complete training is provided for this IRS sponsored program. After training, volunteers help an average of 8 hours a month during the tax season.
